Scanning Proficiency Course

In Australia and New Zealand, scanners need to pass a proficiency test to become and remain accredited scanners to submit scan data to BREEDPLAN. The proficiency test is conducted by the Performance Beef Breeders Association (PBBA) and evaluates the ability of beef cattle scanners to obtain repeatable scan measures on live animals and accurately estimate the actual carcase trait.
