Ultrasound Scanning Proficiency

Genetic analysis of the ultrasound scan data in BREEDPLAN relies on the proficiency of the scanning technician to  get consistent and repeatable results that reflect the carcase trait. Technicians are therefore required to undertake and pass proficiency tests on a regular basis in order to have their data analysed in a BREEDPLAN analysis. 

ABRI certification confirms technical competence only in the use of ultrasound scanning equipment and compliance with ABRI data collection protocols. It is not an endorsement of personal character, behaviour, integrity, or suitability to attend farms or private property. ABRI does not conduct police checks, working with children checks, or other background screening. Responsibility for engaging a scanner, granting access to property, and undertaking any background or suitability checks rests with the producer, employer, or contracting party. ABRI is not responsible for the conduct, actions, or omissions of certified scanners beyond the technical act of data collection. Certification may be suspended or revoked if false information is provided, technical standards are breached, or conduct brings ABRI into disrepute.
