Two new South African Simmentaler selection indexes have been released in conjunction with the February 2020 South African Simmentaler BREEDPLAN analysis. These are the:

• Simmentaler Breeders Index
• Simmentaler Profit Index

The two new selection indexes will replace the previous Simmentaler selection indexes and were developed by South African Simmentaler in conjunction with staff at the Agricultural Business Research Institute (ABRI). The Simmentaler Breeders Index is designed for use in purebred Simmentaler herds and the Simmentaler Profit Index is for Simmentaler Bulls used across non Simmentaler cows.
